What is Otter.ai?
Otter.ai is an AI meeting assistant that joins calls, records them, and produces a live transcript as people speak. When the meeting ends it generates a summary with action items, so the notes exist without anyone having to take them.
Everything it captures becomes searchable, which turns a backlog of meetings into something you can actually query later.
How Otter.ai works
Otter connects to your calendar and joins scheduled meetings automatically, or you can record ad hoc. Transcription happens in real time and speakers are separated. Paid plans add AI meeting templates that shape the summary for a specific meeting type, and push outcomes into Salesforce or HubSpot.
Who Otter.ai is for
Sales teams logging call outcomes to a CRM, researchers and journalists transcribing interviews, students capturing lectures, and any team that loses decisions because nobody wrote them down.
Otter.ai pricing
Otter is freemium. The Basic plan is free forever with 300 transcription minutes a month, but only three lifetime file imports. Pro is $8.33/user/month billed annually ($16.99 monthly) with 1,200 minutes. Business is $19.99/user/month annually ($30 monthly) and lifts meeting length to four hours. Enterprise adds SSO, HIPAA and API access.
The free tier is a real product rather than a trial, but the import limit makes it awkward if you work from recorded files rather than live calls.
