Editorial Policy

MPAT is a launch platform for AI products. What each kind of page rests on, who is responsible for it, and where money stops.

Launches

A maker submits a product from its website address. An editor reviews it, and on its launch day it appears on the homepage board, ranked that day by upvotes from signed-in accounts.

A launched product's page carries what its maker submitted, checked against the product's own site. Where a link to a product's website is paid for, or earns a commission, it is marked sponsored and nofollow.

Product Pages

A tool appears on the board only after an editor has reviewed it: either its maker launched it and an editor approved the launch, or the team researched the tool and added it. Listings are compiled from the vendor's own published pages: what the product does, its plans and prices, its free-tier limits and its terms.

Each listing shows the date it was last updated. Search engines are asked to index a tool page only when it is a profile, a review, or a listing an editor has marked finished. To be marked finished, a listing needs at least 600 words of its own, and answers to common questions, its pros and cons, or its use cases; the page then shows the date its facts and prices were checked, as profiles and reviews do. Every other listing stays out of search results.

Tool Profiles

A profile is a longer page about one tool, compiled from the vendor's pages and named third-party sources. It carries the name of the person who compiled it, the date its facts and prices were checked, and the sources it rests on.

A profile describes a product. It carries no score and no verdict.

Reviews

A page presents itself as a review only when it rests on a hands-on test session by a named author: the plan used, the dates and hours, the tasks attempted, and the evidence (screenshots, outputs, transcripts, measurements) shown on the page itself. A page without that behind it is a profile or a listing.

Every review says who the tool is not for. Prices in a review carry the date they were checked; a price older than 60 days is withdrawn from the page until it is checked again.

Guides

Guides are the articles on the blog. Each one names the person who wrote it, links to that author's page, and shows the date it was published. The rules on payment and corrections below apply to guides as they do to every other page.

Ratings and Upvotes

This site publishes no editorial ratings or scores. The one number shown on a product is its upvotes: one per signed-in account per product, which that account can take back. Upvotes are counted as they are cast. None are seeded, bought or weighted, and the board ranks products by them and by nothing else.

If an editorial rating is ever added, its criteria, scale, owner and review schedule will be published on this page before the first rating appears, and it will never be presented as a user or community rating.

What Payment Can and Cannot Buy

Paid placement, where it exists, is labelled where it appears.

Payment never buys a review, a verdict, a place in a guide or an editorial list, or a rating. When a tool page contains affiliate links it says so, and a commission never changes what is written about the tool.

Corrections

If something on a page is wrong, email the page address and what needs fixing. It is checked against the source, the page is corrected, and its updated date changes with it.
