OpenAI is turning ChatGPT into a one-stop digital hub by letting users connect their favorite apps from food delivery and ride-hailing to travel booking and home design directly inside the chatbot. OpenAI has been steadily expanding ChatGPT beyond a simple conversational AI into something that can actually get things done in the real world. The company now offers app integrations inside ChatGPT, allowing users to connect their accounts and ask the assistant to perform tasks on their behalf. The growing list of supported apps includes major names like DoorDash, Spotify, Uber, Booking.com, Expedia, Zillow, and several others.

Getting Started

Setting up is straightforward. Users need to be logged into ChatGPT, then type the name of the app they want at the start of their prompt, and ChatGPT will walk them through the sign-in process. For those who prefer to connect everything in advance, the Settings menu has an Apps and Connectors section where users can browse available apps and sign in to each one.

However, there is a privacy consideration worth noting. Connecting an account means sharing app data with ChatGPT, so users should review the permissions carefully before linking. The good news is that any app can be disconnected at any time through the Settings menu.

What You Can Actually Do

The range of integrations covers a surprisingly broad slice of everyday life.

Food and Shopping:

DoorDash's integration, launched in December 2025, lets users ask ChatGPT for a meal plan and instantly add all the ingredients to their DoorDash cart for grocery delivery. This feature currently works only in the U.S. with participating retailers like Kroger, Safeway, and Wegmans. Target's integration allows shoppers to ask for gift suggestions, build a shopping basket, and choose between same-day pickup, drive-up, or standard shipping.

Travel:

Both Booking.com and Expedia let users search for hotels and flights directly within the chat, with the ability to filter by budget, star rating, number of travelers, and even specifics like breakfast-included options. Users then finalize their bookings on the respective platforms. Uber's integration helps users find ride options, which is particularly useful in unfamiliar locations. However, it currently only supports on-demand rides in the U.S. — no advance bookings yet.

Music and Entertainment:

The Spotify integration is among the most popular, letting users create playlists based on mood or favorite artists, discover new music, and even add or remove items from their Spotify library. SeatGeek, which launched in March 2026, helps users find event tickets, from the cheapest game seats to kid-friendly weekend options.

Design and Productivity:

Canva's integration lets users generate social media posts, posters, and slide decks by simply describing what they need, including preferred fonts, colors, and dimensions. Figma allows users to turn brainstorming sessions into diagrams, flowcharts, and product roadmaps. Wix's integration, launched in March 2026, even lets users create functional websites through a text or voice prompt.

Education and Real Estate:

Coursera helps users find online courses filtered by skill level, rating, duration, and cost. Quizlet allows students to convert AI conversations and notes into flashcard sets and study materials. Zillow makes house hunting more conversational, letting users search by price range, bedrooms, and neighborhood preferences.

Home Services:

Angi, one of the newest additions, lets users ask home improvement questions and get matched with professionals directly within ChatGPT.

What's Coming Next

OpenAI has confirmed that additional partners, including OpenTable, PayPal, and Walmart, will be joining the platform in 2026. For now, though, the app integrations are limited to users in the U.S. and Canada, with Europe and the U.K. excluded for the time being.

The bigger picture here is clear: OpenAI is positioning ChatGPT not just as a chatbot you talk to, but as a central interface through which you interact with the digital services you already use every day. Whether that vision fully materializes will depend on how well these integrations work in practice, how many more apps join, and whether users are comfortable handing over that much data to a single AI platform.
