Short answer: all three of MPAT's 9 October 2026 launches charge a flat monthly fee that comes with an allowance, but the allowance is counted differently. OpenSEO is $10 a month with $10 of data usage included. Regunow is US$200 a month with 6,000 monthly credits. VocaScript is free for 120 minutes a month, then $10 for 30 hours. Only VocaScript has a lasting free plan.
This MPAT guide explains what each product's monthly credits actually measure, what happens when they run out, and how to tell whether the entry plan is enough. Every price was read again on the vendors' own pricing pages on 9 October 2026, alongside today's three MPAT listings. It is compiled from those pages, not a hands-on test, and there are no scores or ratings.
What launched on MPAT on 9 October 2026?
Three products went live on the board on the same UTC day, and they do unrelated jobs:
OpenSEO (morning) is an open-source SEO workspace from Every App, Inc. It covers keyword research, backlinks, rank tracking, site audits and AI-search visibility, and it connects to Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT through MCP. Its data comes from DataForSEO.
Regunow (afternoon) is a regulatory research workspace from Regunow, LLC. It answers compliance questions with source references across 19 jurisdictions and checks your own documents for gaps.
VocaScript (evening) is a browser-based transcriber for long audio and video files, public media links and browser tabs, with speaker labels, translation and subtitle exports. Its MPAT listing goes live with the evening slot, so the link may not open until it is published.
A marketer, a compliance manager and a podcaster would each buy one of these, not all three. So this is not a feature roundup. What the three share is a billing pattern you will see on most new AI tools: a subscription that buys a metered allowance. The useful buying question is what that meter counts, because the same "$10 a month" can mean very different amounts of work.
How much does each cost, and what does the allowance count?
Checked 9 October 2026 on the OpenSEO pricing page (USD), the Regunow pricing page (USD, taxes included) and the VocaScript pricing page (USD, before tax).
Free trial with $0.50 of credits | Base Plan $10/month | Dollars of data usage: $10 included each month | Buy top-ups; an active subscription is still required | Top-ups never expire; included usage resets each cycle
None listed | Pro US$200/month | 6,000 credits; cost per question varies by model and feature | Buy extra credits at 30 per US$1 | Extra credits expire 12 months after purchase; monthly credits do not roll over
Free plan: 120 minutes a month, 25 minutes per file | Plus $10/month | Transcription hours (30) plus a separate pool of 600 AI credits for text features | Wait for the 1st of the month or upgrade | No top-ups listed; minutes and AI credits reset monthly |
What does OpenSEO's $10 of included usage buy?
OpenSEO's single Base Plan costs $10 a month and includes $10 of usage, which is spent on paid data calls. The OpenSEO pricing estimator gives rough unit costs: about $0.05 per keyword search, about $0.08 for a domain overview with a year of backlink history, and about $0.002 per AI prompt check. Its default example of 100 keyword searches, 20 backlink checks and 50 tracked keywords checked weekly comes to about $7.52, which fits inside the included $10.
Projects, settings and data you have already fetched do not use credits, and Google Search Console data is free. If you run out, you buy top-up credits, which never expire. However, the FAQ says you still need an active subscription to use OpenSEO, so a stock of top-ups does not let you cancel the plan. The free trial is $0.50 of credits, which is a handful of searches and not a free plan. The OpenSEO terms offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your most recent subscription charge, but not on usage or top-up credits you have spent. Self-hosting the MIT-licensed code is the other route: you pay DataForSEO directly and skip the hosted plan, as the OpenSEO listing on MPAT explains.
What do Regunow's 6,000 monthly credits cover?
Regunow has one plan. Pro is US$200 a month, applicable taxes included, for one individual user with 6,000 monthly credits, per the Regunow pricing page. The Regunow Terms of Service (updated 25 September 2026) set the credit rules. Monthly credits belong to the billing period and do not roll over. Active subscribers can buy more at 30 credits per US$1, and each purchase expires 12 months later.
The part buyers should notice is that Regunow does not publish what one question costs. The terms say different models and features use different amounts, and that one credit is not a promise of one question. So you cannot work out from the public pages how many questions 6,000 credits cover. There is also no free plan or trial, and payments are non-refundable outside mandatory law. The only way to test it is to pay for a month and watch the meter. The pricing FAQ also says each subscription is for one person, so a team of three needs three plans.
Is VocaScript free, and how far do 120 minutes go?
Yes. VocaScript is the only one of the three with a lasting free plan. Guests can run 3 transcriptions a day of up to 5 minutes each without an account. A free account gives 120 minutes a month, up to 25 minutes per file and 15 transcriptions a day, with TXT export. The homepage FAQ gives a worked example: a 90-minute lecture on the free plan takes four transcriptions, three of 25 minutes and one of 15. So 120 minutes covers about one long lecture plus a short clip each month.
Paid plans, per the VocaScript pricing page, are Plus at $10 a month for 30 hours, Pro at $25 for 80 hours and Max at $100 for 320 hours, in US dollars before tax. They allow single files of 4, 8 or 16 hours and add SRT, VTT and JSON exports. VocaScript runs two meters. Minutes cover audio processing, including any segment you retranscribe. AI credits (20, 600, 1,500 or 6,000 a month) cover text work such as proofreading, summaries, chat and translation. Both reset on the first day of each calendar month, not on your billing date, so a plan bought on the 25th resets a few days later. The VocaScript refund policy allows a full refund within 14 days of the first paid purchase, once per account.
How do these meters compare with older MPAT tools?
The same pattern shows up on tools MPAT listed earlier. Tactiq, a meeting transcriber, also splits transcripts from AI credits. MPAT's 24 September 2026 check found 10 transcripts and 5 AI credits a month on its free plan, and Pro at $8 a user a month billed annually with unlimited transcripts but still only 10 AI credits. Submagic, a caption and short-video tool, counts credits per video: MPAT's 24 September 2026 check found Starter at $19 a month for 45 credits, which is 15 videos of up to two minutes each.
The lesson is the same in each case. The headline price tells you little until you know the unit: a dollar of data, an unpublished amount per question, an hour of audio, or one finished video.
Which billing model fits how you work?
Dollar-metered usage (OpenSEO) suits people who can estimate their volume. Use the estimator first. If your month fits inside $10, the plan is close to a flat fee, and top-ups cover busy months without expiring.
Opaque credits on a single high-priced plan (Regunow) suit professionals whose employer pays for research tools and who use them every week. If you have only a few questions a month, $200 with no trial is hard to justify, and you cannot pre-calculate capacity.
Time-based minutes with a free tier (VocaScript) suit anyone with recordings. Test transcript quality on the free plan with a 25-minute clip, then pick the plan by your longest single file and your monthly hours.

Do unused monthly credits roll over?
No, not for any of the three. OpenSEO's included $10 resets each cycle, but bought top-ups never expire. Regunow's monthly credits do not roll over, and its extra credits last 12 months. VocaScript's minutes and AI credits reset on the first of each month.
Can I get a refund?
OpenSEO offers 30 days on the latest subscription charge, excluding consumed credits. VocaScript offers 14 days on a first paid purchase, once per account. Regunow says payments are non-refundable except where mandatory law or its checkout provider's policy says otherwise.
