Voicenotes Review: Pricing, Free Plan and Privacy

Voice notes and meeting notes, transcribed and searchable

Voicenotes is an app for recording voice memos and meetings and getting them back as transcribed, summarised and searchable notes. It runs on macOS, iOS, Windows, Android, the web and Apple Watch, and it can connect your notes to ChatGPT or Claude. There are three plans: Basic at $0, Pro at $9 per user a month and Enterprise at $24 per user a month.

Quick verdict

The free plan is real, with unlimited recordings, but it is rationed by a weekly pool of 100 transcription minutes and a 30-day history. The catch is that the pricing page shows no annual price, and its list of plans is silent on the 7-day free trial and the refund window that the Terms promise. Read the Terms before you pay.

What is Voicenotes used for?

The Voicenotes homepage now leads with meetings: "the notetaker for your confidential meetings", with nothing joining your call. The older voice-memo use is still there in the plans, which share minutes across "meetings, memos & dictation".

Meetings without a bot

The homepage describes three steps: hit record at the start of an online or in-person meeting, jot comments on the note while it runs, and get a summary, action items and next steps when it ends. It says no bot joins the call and that it works with all meeting apps.

Voice memos and dictation

Recordings are transcribed and filed as notes you can search. The pricing page says the 100 weekly Basic minutes are shared across meetings, memos and dictation.

Ask your notes

The homepage promises to "Just Ask" across every conversation you have recorded. Pro adds real-time notes with live transcription and imports of old audio, which the pricing FAQ says are transcribed, summarised and indexed.

Voicenotes MCP

On Pro and above, Voicenotes MCP connects your notes to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools. The Privacy Policy lists four tools: search_notes, list_notes, get_transcript and create_text_note. Raw audio is not sent through them, only text and metadata.

Who Voicenotes is for, and who should skip it

It suits people who think out loud, professionals who sit in confidential meetings and do not want a bot in the call, and anyone with a long back catalogue of recordings to search.

  • Skip Basic if you record a lot. 100 minutes a week is about 20 minutes per workday (our arithmetic), and the page says anything over is saved but not transcribed.
  • Skip it if you need an EU data location. The Privacy Policy says all recordings and account data are stored on AWS servers in the United States.
  • Skip it for fixed team budgets. Pro and Enterprise are priced per user.

How much does Voicenotes cost?

All prices are in US dollars, read on the Voicenotes pricing page on 13 October 2026. The page shows one price per plan and no annual option.

PlanPriceWhat you get
Basic$0Unlimited recordings, 100 weekly transcription minutes, 100+ languages, 30-day history
Pro$9 per user a monthUnlimited recordings and transcription minutes, real-time notes and live transcription, Voicenotes MCP, unlimited history, unlimited audio imports and storage, advanced integrations (Zapier, Notion, Claude, ChatGPT, WhatsApp), centralised team billing
Enterprise$24 per user a monthEverything in Pro plus SSO and SCIM, enterprise security controls, consent management, admin controls for sharing, custom CRM and dialler integrations, a dedicated success manager and priority support SLAs

The jump from Basic to Pro is the one that matters: it lifts the minute cap, the 30-day history and the import limit in one go. Enterprise at $24 is $15 more per user than Pro (our arithmetic) and the page lists governance features rather than extra recording capacity.

The Voicenotes Terms of Service (dated 15 September 2025) say there is a 7-day free trial. If you find the product is not for you within 14 days, or after 6 hours of transcription used, email the team for a refund if you paid through the web. Mobile-app subscribers request refunds through the store. Monthly subscribers can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the billing cycle, with no refund for the remaining period.

Is Voicenotes free?

Yes. Basic is $0 and includes unlimited recordings, 100 weekly transcription minutes, support for 100+ languages and 30 days of history. The pricing page calls it the plan for people who "just want to give it a try". The weekly minute pool resets every week and is shared across meetings, memos and dictation.

How Voicenotes handles your recordings

The Voicenotes Privacy Policy, read on 13 October 2026, is specific about who sees your data.

  • No training. It says notes, recordings, transcripts and imported content are not used to train any AI model, Voicenotes' own or its providers'. The pricing FAQ adds that third parties such as OpenAI and Anthropic are not allowed to train on your data.
  • AI providers. Content is sent through commercial APIs to OpenAI or Anthropic. Transcription providers listed include OpenAI and Eleven Labs, and Soniox is named in the data table.
  • Hosting. AWS in the United States stores everything. Stripe handles card payments, PostHog gathers analytics and Sentry handles crash reports.
  • Access. The policy says personnel cannot reach private notes through normal workflows, and that access to underlying systems is limited to a single vetted person with a business need.
  • Connected clients. Once ChatGPT or Claude receives note text through MCP, that client's own terms and retention apply. Deleting a note in Voicenotes does not remove copies already returned.
  • Compliance. The policy and the homepage say SOC 2 Type II and GDPR, checked through Vanta, with a public trust page.

Where Voicenotes' own pages disagree

  • Languages. The plan cards say 100+ languages. The pricing FAQ says English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian "and 60+ other languages", which is roughly 65.
  • Model training. The Enterprise card lists "zero model training on your data", but its own text says this applies to every plan, and the Privacy Policy agrees. It is not an Enterprise-only protection.
  • Trial. The Terms offer a 7-day free trial; the pricing page lists no trial.
  • Data access. The policy says personnel cannot access notes in normal workflows, yet it also says one vetted person can reach the underlying systems.
