Comcent is a cloud phone system for teams that take customer calls. Agents answer in the browser over your own SIP trunk, and AI transcribes, summarises and labels every call. It suits support and sales teams. Hosted plans cost $20, $99 or $249 a month, and the open-source edition is free to self-host.
MPAT read the Comcent pricing page, the Comcent documentation, the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy on 10 October 2026. This listing is compiled from those vendor pages. It is not a hands-on review: MPAT did not fund a wallet, connect a carrier or place test calls.
What Comcent does
Comcent sits between your phone carrier and your team. You keep buying numbers and minutes from a carrier such as Twilio, Telnyx or Bandwidth. Comcent handles routing, the agents' dialer, recording and the analysis afterwards. The SIP trunk guide is plain about the split: Comcent does not sell numbers or minutes, and your carrier bills you for calls.
The Comcent homepage and docs describe these parts:
- Browser dialer. Agents make and take calls from a WebRTC softphone in the web app, with no desk phones. The dialer can also be embedded in another web app, such as a CRM.
- Call flows and queues. A visual editor routes inbound calls through menus, business-hours checks, queues and voice bot steps.
- Transfers. Blind and attended transfers to colleagues, each shown as a separate leg on the call graph.
- Recording and Call Story. Every call gets a page with the recordings, the call graph, the transcript, a summary and sentiment.
- AI Insights. Per the AI Insights docs, each party is transcribed separately and merged, so lines are attributed to the right speaker. You also get positive, neutral or negative sentiment per party, a short summary, your own auto-applied labels such as "billing", and search by meaning.
- Promises. Commitments an agent makes on a call, such as "I'll email the invoice by Friday", are pulled out with a due date and listed as tasks assigned to that agent.
- Daily summary. Once a day, AI writes an executive summary of the last 24 hours of calls for admins.
- Voice bot. The voice bot docs show an AI agent you instruct in plain text. It can hang up, move a caller to a queue, and call your own tools through MCP servers.
- Developer access. A REST API, multi-tenant organisations, and webhooks that deliver each finished call as a vCon document.
AI Insights are switched on by default for a new organisation. Admins can turn transcription, sentiment, summaries, daily summaries and labels on or off under Settings, AI & Analysis.
Who it is for, and who should skip it
Comcent fits small and mid-sized support, sales and service teams that already have, or are happy to set up, a carrier account. Unlimited seats on every plan help teams where many people answer the phone now and then. The open-source Community Edition suits technical teams that want call data on their own servers.
Skip it if you want a phone number in five minutes with no carrier set-up. You have to connect a SIP trunk and add numbers yourself. Skip it if you want an AI to handle most calls on its own; the voice bot exists, but the product is built around human agents and queues. Skip it for personal use, since the terms limit Comcent Cloud to businesses. And do not use it as your only line for emergency calls: the terms say it is not designed for them.
Comcent is browser-based phone software for teams that handle customer calls. It runs on the SIP trunk you already have from a carrier such as Twilio, so Comcent charges no talk-time fees. Agents take calls in a web dialer, and calls route through visual flows and queues. AI then turns each recording into a speaker-attributed transcript, a summary, sentiment, labels and a list of the promises agents made. Comcent Cloud is prepaid from a US-dollar wallet. Starter costs $20 a month for 5 concurrent calls, Team $99 for 20 concurrent calls with 3,000 AI minutes, and Scale $249 for 50 concurrent calls with 10,000 AI minutes. Every plan has unlimited seats. A voice bot costs extra, from $0.08 a minute. The AGPL-licensed Community Edition is free to self-host with your own AI keys. Payments are non-refundable. MPAT read these facts on Comcent's own pages on 10 October 2026.
Plans and prices
| Plan | Price | What you get | Where it stops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Community Edition (self-host) | Free, AGPL-3.0 | The open-source core on your own Linux server, with your own Deepgram and OpenAI keys | You run and upgrade the server and pay the AI providers yourself; transfer intelligence is Cloud-only |
| Starter | $20/month | Unlimited seats, 5 concurrent calls, recording kept 30 days; AI Insights pay as you go at $0.020/min | Extra concurrent calls $3/month each; no AI minutes included |
| Team | $99/month | Unlimited seats, 20 concurrent calls, recording kept 1 year, 3,000 AI Insights minutes a month | Then $0.015/min; extra concurrent calls $4/month each |
| Scale | $249/month | Unlimited seats, 50 concurrent calls, recording kept 3 years, 10,000 AI Insights minutes a month | Then $0.012/min; extra concurrent calls $5/month each |
| Enterprise | Custom | Self-hosted with billing, GDPR workflows, audit logs, SLA tracking, outbound campaigns, commercial licence and support | Price on request |
Usage add-ons are the same on every Cloud plan. Transfer intelligence, a live AI summary shown to the colleague receiving a transferred call, is $0.03 a minute. The voice bot costs $0.08 a minute on the Standard pipeline or the Realtime speech-to-speech model, and $0.20 on Realtime Premium. Indian-language voice is listed as coming soon. Your carrier's minute and number charges are separate and paid to the carrier.
Billing works through a prepaid wallet held in US dollars, with a minimum top-up of $25. The plan fee is taken from the wallet each month, and usage is deducted as you go. If the wallet cannot cover a renewal, the plan lapses and calls stop until you top up; you are not billed into debt. Upgrades start at once, with credit for unused days, and downgrades apply at the next renewal. Outside India you top up through PayPal. In India you pay in rupees through Razorpay at the day's European Central Bank rate.
Check two points before you pay. First, the terms say all payments are final, including unused wallet balance when an account closes. Second, there is no free Cloud plan. The launch graphic on Comcent's Product Hunt page advertises $25 of free credit at sign-up, but the pricing page does not mention it, so confirm it in the app.
How it compares to tools already on MPAT
Famulor is an AI voice-agent platform: the AI is the one answering and dialling. MPAT's 3 October 2026 check found pay-as-you-go at €0.18 a minute after 800 sign-up credits, and Plus at €35 a month with 100 minutes. Pick Famulor if you want a bot on the phone. Pick Comcent if people take the calls and you want transcripts, summaries and routing around them.
XBert, from Nextiva, is an AI employee for small businesses covering calls, SMS, chat and inbox. MPAT's 3 October 2026 check found $99 a month for 100 sessions, then $0.99 a session. It bills per AI conversation. Comcent's Team plan costs the same $99, but it buys 20 concurrent human calls and 3,000 AI analysis minutes.
Tactiq transcribes internal Google Meet, Zoom and Teams meetings from a browser extension. MPAT's 24 September 2026 check found a free plan and Pro at $8 a user a month billed annually. Use Tactiq for meetings. Comcent is for phone calls with customers.

Is Comcent free?
The self-hosted Community Edition is free under the AGPL-3.0 licence, but you pay for a server and for your own Deepgram and OpenAI usage. The self-hosting requirements suggest 2 vCPUs and 4 GB of RAM, citing a $12-a-month droplet. The hosted Comcent Cloud has no free plan; Starter is $20 a month.
How much does Comcent cost?
Comcent Cloud costs $20 a month for Starter, $99 for Team and $249 for Scale, in US dollars before tax, paid from a prepaid wallet. AI minutes beyond the plan, transfer intelligence and voice bot minutes are charged per minute. Carrier charges are separate.
What is Comcent used for?
Running a small call centre or support line from the browser: routing inbound calls, queueing callers, transferring between agents and recording calls. Afterwards, managers can search calls by meaning, review sentiment and follow up on promises agents made.
Where does Comcent send call data?
The Comcent Privacy Policy (effective 28 September 2026) lists its subprocessors. Hosting is on DigitalOcean and recordings are stored on Amazon S3, both in the United States. Speech-to-text and text-to-speech run on Deepgram, and analysis, summaries and the voice bot run on OpenAI. Comcent says it does not sell personal data. For call data, your organisation is the controller and Comcent is the processor. Recordings are deleted after your plan's retention period, while transcripts and summaries stay for the life of the account. The terms make you responsible for telling callers they are being recorded where the law requires it.
Who makes Comcent?
Comcent Technologies Private Limited, a company registered in Brahmavara, Karnataka, India, per the terms, which are governed by Indian law. The founder, Pavan Kumar, posted the hosted Comcent Cloud on Product Hunt on 9 October 2026, its first launch there. The Comcent blog dates the product to September 2024, and the open-source Comcent Community Edition on GitHub was announced in July 2026.
