Customer Service AI for Etsy is a Chrome extension that drafts replies to Etsy buyer messages inside Etsy's own reply box, using the order details and an optional memory of your shop. It is built for Etsy sellers who answer buyers themselves. Every account gets 30 free AI messages, and monthly plans start at $2.99 for 100.
MPAT read the Customer Service AI for Etsy homepage, the msgassistant.com pricing page, the terms of service, the privacy policy and the Chrome Web Store listing on 6 October 2026. This page is compiled from those vendor pages. It is not a hands-on review: MPAT did not install the extension, create an account or connect an Etsy shop. On the site and in the store the product is called "Etsy Customer Service AI Bot", and it runs on the msgassistant.com domain. It was featured on Product Hunt on 6 October 2026 and also launched on the MPAT launch board, where this listing lives at /tools/customer-service-ai-for-etsy.
Customer Service AI for Etsy in one paragraph
Customer Service AI for Etsy adds orange buttons to the reply box on Etsy's Messages page in Chrome. You type a short note such as "ships Monday" or leave it blank, click a button, and the extension writes a full reply from the open conversation, the order shown beside it and your saved shop settings. You can edit, regenerate, shorten or lengthen the draft, then paste it into the reply box and press Send yourself; nothing goes to the buyer automatically. An optional store memory learns your products, policies and writing style from conversations you open. Billing counts messages: one AI reply, regenerate, length change or grammar fix uses one. As of 6 October 2026, new accounts get 30 free messages without a card, and monthly plans run from $2.99 for 100 to $99.99 for 10,000. It suits sellers who handle their own inbox and want faster, consistent answers.
What Customer Service AI for Etsy does
The features below come from the homepage and the store listing, read on 6 October 2026. The vendor's screenshots show the real extension with a made-up shop.
- Reply buttons in Etsy's reply box. Separate buttons write a reply, politely decline a request, reply using your past conversations, fix the grammar of your own draft or improve it.
- Note-to-reply drafting. A few words such as "offer size 38 instead" become a complete, friendly message built around that instruction.
- Order context. The draft can use the item, its variations and personalization, the delivery status and the tracking number that Etsy shows next to the conversation. The extension skips the shipping address block and your private notes.
- Edit panel. Each draft opens in a panel where you can edit it, regenerate it, or make it shorter or longer before you use it.
- Replies in the buyer's language. The extension answers in the language the buyer wrote in, and a "What this says" view shows the draft in your own language before you send it.
- Store memory (opt-in). With "Save conversations I open" switched on, the conversations you open build a store summary of products, policies, common questions, past decisions and style. You can read and edit that summary in the extension.
- To-do list for buyers you owe. A flag in the reply box adds a conversation to a to-do list with an optional note such as "send tracking". The list appears on Etsy's message pages and in the extension, and the matching order is tagged on Etsy's Orders page.
- Reply settings that follow your account. Tone, signature name, shop name, policies, store rules and a target word count are saved to your account, so they carry over to another computer. Sign-in works with email or Google.
Who it is for, and who should skip it
A good fit if you run an Etsy shop, answer buyer messages yourself in desktop Chrome, and spend real time on the same few questions: shipping dates, tracking, custom orders and polite refusals. The to-do flag helps if buyers slip through while you are packing orders. Pricing is per message, so a small shop with a light inbox can stay on the $2.99 Starter plan or a one-time pack.
Skip it if you sell on several marketplaces and want one inbox for all of them; this extension works only on Etsy's web Messages page, and the site does not mention the Etsy mobile app or other browsers. Skip it too if you want an agent that answers buyers without you. The tool writes drafts only, by design. Larger teams should note that the terms allow one account per person or shop and describe no shared seats or roles. The store listing names an individual developer as the trader, and MPAT found no published security certifications, so weigh that before pasting buyer conversations into a new service.
Plans and prices
| Plan | Price | What you get | Where the tier stops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free start | $0, no card | 30 AI messages on every new account | One-time; drafting stops when the 30 messages are used, unless you buy a plan or pack |
| Starter | $2.99 a month | 100 AI messages a month | Monthly quota; unused messages do not carry over |
| Plus | $6.99 a month | 500 AI messages a month | Monthly quota; resets at renewal |
| Pro | $13.99 a month | 1,000 AI messages a month | Monthly quota; resets at renewal |
| Business | $99.99 a month | 10,000 AI messages a month | Monthly quota; resets at renewal |
| Message pack | $2.99 once | 50 extra messages, with or without a plan | Never expire; used after the plan's monthly messages |
Plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel under Account, Manage billing. A cancelled plan keeps working until the end of the month you paid for. The terms say payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, and that a price change applies from the next renewal after notice. Plans started free with a promotion code end on their own when the free month does.
What a message really costs, and where the free tier stops
One message is one AI action, not one finished conversation. A first draft, a regenerate, a shorter or longer version, a grammar fix and an improvement each use one message, according to the homepage FAQ. If you usually regenerate once before you are happy, 30 free messages cover about 15 answered buyers.
At list prices, Starter works out to about 3 cents a message, Plus and Pro to about 1.4 cents, and Business to about 1 cent. The 50-message pack costs the same $2.99 as a full month of Starter with half the messages, but it never expires, so it suits a seller with a seasonal spike rather than a steady inbox. Free messages and leftover pack messages stay on the account and are used after the month's plan quota.
How it compares to tools already on MPAT
- NiroHelp, the WordPress help desk with AI answers from your docs, is free for docs and tickets on WordPress.org, with paid AI plans from $9.99 a month, per its MPAT listing checked 28 September 2026. NiroHelp runs a support desk on your own WordPress site; Customer Service AI for Etsy works only inside Etsy's Messages page.
- XBert, the AI employee for calls, SMS, chat and inbox, lists $99 a month for 100 sessions and then $0.99 each, per its MPAT listing checked 3 October 2026. XBert answers customers across channels on its own; this extension never sends anything, so a human approves every reply.
- Jarq, the Mac app that translates and rewrites text at your cursor, allows 5 actions a day on its Free plan after a 14-day trial, with Pro at $4.99 a month, per its MPAT listing checked 5 October 2026. Jarq can polish any text in any Mac app, but it does not read Etsy order details or keep a memory of your shop.

Is Customer Service AI for Etsy free?
It is free to install and free to start. Every new account gets 30 AI messages with no card. After those are used, drafting needs a monthly plan from $2.99 or a one-time pack of 50 messages for $2.99. Prices checked on 6 October 2026.
How much does Customer Service AI for Etsy cost?
Starter is $2.99 a month for 100 messages, Plus $6.99 for 500, Pro $13.99 for 1,000 and Business $99.99 for 10,000, billed monthly in US dollars with tax added where it applies. Each draft, regenerate or edit counts as one message.
Does it send messages to buyers by itself?
No. The terms of service (updated 30 September 2026) say the service never sends a message for you and that you are responsible for what you send and for following Etsy's policies. You review the draft, put it in Etsy's reply box and press Send.
What happens to my buyers' data?
When you click a button, the open conversation, the order details shown beside it, your note and your settings go to the vendor's server, and OpenAI processes that text to write the reply, according to the privacy policy (updated 6 October 2026). The policy says OpenAI does not use API data for training, names Stripe, Google Workspace, Cloudflare and Vultr as other processors, and notes that the homepage and pricing page load a Google Ads tag. Reply drafts and request-log texts are deleted after 90 days. Saved conversations and the store summary stay while the account exists, and you can delete them or the whole account from the extension. The to-do list stays in your browser.
Is Customer Service AI for Etsy made by Etsy?
No. The site, terms and store listing all say it is an independent tool that is not endorsed by or affiliated with Etsy, Inc. The Chrome Web Store lists an individual developer in Texas, United States, as the trader.
